Herwig Lighting was established in 1908, under the name Herwig Art Shades & Lamp Company, and was one of the pioneers of indoor and outdoor lighting equipment.

Herwig Lighting is still operated by members of the founder's family. With the experience gained through our long history of continuous operation, Herwig Lighting is qualified to meet the design, engineering, and manufacturing requirements of the modern professional and the discriminating building owner. From our inplant non-ferrous foundry to final machining and assembly operations, skilled craftsmen provide quality lighting products.

Every Herwig lantern and post is custom-made to your specifications. Our craftsmanship is well known world-wide for quality and precision. It is not uncommon for us to receive an order for the replacement or illumination conversion of a lantern we manufactured as much as 98 years ago. We believe this says a great deal about our quality and established level of customer satisfaction.

Most of our standard lanterns and posts were once specified for a particular project, however; when a design is manufactured, it is added to Herwig's extensive product line available to you. Styles range from Victorian, Colonial, Traditional, Gothic, Modern, Artisan, Country, Period, Contemporary, to Art Deco.

We also specialize in manufacturing cast-aluminum reproductions of posts, brackets, lanterns, street clocks and benches from antique samples or illustrations.
